Now that you have created your own blog and used it through the previous eight lessons, describe in detail how you will use your blogging skills in your classroom.
I am trying to do this from a different computer than I normally use and I am having trouble finding my EDU 270 blog. I have no idea what is going on, I hope this works for now. I would like to utilize more technology, specifically web resources, in my classrooms in the future. I would really like to have classroom websites where the students can have access to all the course information and materials online. To this effect I could also use a blog to keep students informed of upcoming events like tests and quizzes and project due dates. I would also like to try using a blog as an enrichment tool for more advanced kids. I could expand upon topics discussed in class and go deeper and get more complex for those kids that were interested in that. Sometimes during class time I hesitate to go into too much depth or detail, as I know that will only confuse some of the students. A blog would be a perfect vehicle that would allow the students who were interested in more advanced topics to be able to explore them without me having to fear of overwhelming the other students. A blog would also be a great place to consolidate answers to frequently asked questions. For example, if you had a discussion forum where students could ask questions and comment on them, the teachers post run the risk of being buried in the forum text and might get lost for many students. You could use a blog to transfer the teachers posts and make them more visible and accessible for all the students.
